Purple Line LRT, Jerusalem
Client: Transportation Master Planning Team, Jerusalem
Location: Jerusalem, Israel
Date: 2022
Status: in progress
Jerusalem is the first city in Israel to construct and operate a mass transportation light rail system. Today, additional lines are being planned: green, blue and purple lines – the firm is responsible for seven stations being built along the new purple line, including the proposed Kolitz Bridge.
The Purple Line stretches from West Jerusalem from the Hadassah Ein-Kerem campus to the Talpiot neighborhood located in East Jerusalem. The length of the entire line is about 15 km, 10 km of which overlaps with other lines.
The project takes into consideration accessibility measures around the stations within the design, such as: elevators, sloped elevators, and foot bridges.
