LRT Depot, Tel Aviv Red Line

Client: NTA Metropolitan Mass Transit System Location: Petach Tikva, Israel Date: 2018 Status: completed

Tel Aviv’s Metropolitan area is undergoing mega changes as the new light-rail train lines (and soon underground metro systems) are being constructed.

The Red Line stretching from Petach Tikva to Bat Yam via Tel Aviv is the first line which will soon open to the public, and the firm designed the Station Petach Tikva.
The planning included the overall site plan, with all track layout and complex circulation, coordination of site utilities, and the architectural design of all buildings.

Among them are the main 15,000 sqm Maintenance Garage, office and main control building, technical and electric facilities as well as stabling tracks for 100 train cars. The total built area adds up to 25,000 sqm.

The design is inspired by traditional heavy industry architecture, using exposed steel structure, trusses and concrete walls, yet carefully integrated with finer finishes such as aluminum and even wood cladding.
