Generi 3 Government Compound

Client: Minrav Group Location: Jerusalem Date: 2023 Status: Competition

A Design-Built-Operate (DBOT) competition for 80,000 sqm built area housing five Government Ministries, located opposite the Israeli Ministry of Justice (also designed by the firm). Under the whole compound a five story LRT Depot has been built, a fact that introduces many limitations on the structure’s core locations, ventilation shafts, etc.

The complex presents five buildings which are interconnected by a pedestrianized yard on the ground level. This serves as a main open space for employees to enter the complex and to enjoy the fresh air during their breaks. The five wings contain 2,600 office rooms, which are fully functional and designed to be flexible for future changes.

Open air foot bridges in between the wings present the opportunity for air circulation, as well as offer further outdoor spaces for the employees working in the building. Façades are mostly dry mounted stone-cladded, with glass curtain walls towards the adjacent streets – shining as beacons of light into the streets in the evening.
